I bought this adapter to upgrade (bigger gauge and 0-60 psi) the air gauge. The new air gauge requires a 1/4" female NPT. The stock air gauge on the new compressor was small and went up to 150psi and since I only use this compressor for air brush work, I wanted to change it to more accurately access air pressure. The adapter I received was 1/8 BSP male and that worked fine for threading into the regulator, but the 1/4" NPT would not allow the new air gauge or the 1/4" NPT brass elbow to thread properly. I can thread the adapter about 3/4 of-a-turn before it stops. The pictures above shows my attempt on several male 1/4" NPT threaded parts.
